I would like to introduce you to the newest member of our Family. His name is Turk, Turk the Turtle :)
Since I can remember Jeff has been BEGGING me for a pet turtle. I said NO WAY! I don't know why but I am not an animal person, something has been engraved into my brain not to like, love or trust animals :)
Well a few days before Christmas Jeff's brother so kindly gave us his Turtle (African desert tortoise) I know how nice of him right.
Jeff promised me that he would do EVERYTHING to take care of this LOW maintenance animal.
WELL... guess who does everything, yup me!
It's too cold outside right now for the little guy so every morning I take him outside. Jeff made a little closed in home for him in the backyard, but per Jeff's request he would like me to let Turk roam the grass for a while during the day, you know so he can stretch his legs.
I can not tell you how many times I have been in the backyard for 30 minutes plus looking for that stupid little Turk!! Poor Liberty has had to listen to mom grunting under her breath some choice words for Turk while looking for him. He is SO small it's so hard to find him. The other day I went out to my sisters house for dinner with my dad and I forgot to bring Turk inside. When I got home that night Jeff and Liberty were sitting around our space heater with Turk right in front. They felt bad for him and said he needed to warm up! Oh my goodness!!
Liberty is in LOVE! She loves to play in the backyard with him. She loves to pet him, and laughs so hard when she pets his head and he "hides" it's really cute. Some times she loves him too much, she loves to pick him up and move him all around. I can't tell you how many times I have to say don't pick him up let him walk!
ok ok I'm starting to love the little guy as well! Look at him, he is cute!

This post cracks me up. It doesn't surprise me that Jeff is a turtle guy. That picture of Liberty is GORGEOUS!!! Did you get a new camera?! Btw, I really want to come hold your baby.
This is so hilarious! I can just picture you oustide hunting for Turk. It's so cute that Jeff & Liberty adore that turtle so much. I love the space heater moment you described. So funny!

Ah! We had a similar turtle before we had Henry. I had to get rid of it because he creeped me out/I was worried I was going to accidentally kill it! I even had nightmares!...I like animals, I guess I don`t like reptiles! Good luck!
Don't you remember Rosie? Amy you loved that little hamster. I think you were traumatized from her death.
