Bath time and Blood

Yesterday I gave Liberty a bath and this time she loved it! I was feeling brave and did it on my own while Jeff was at school. Before I even got her in the tub on the walk from her room to the bath room (2 feet) she peed on me! haha But we enjoyed our bath and I was happy that she seemed calmed and to enjoy the tub. After her bath I wrap her up in her towel and made the 2 feet walk back to her room, this is when I smelled something funny I open her towel and yup she pooped in the towel!! So I quickly get her on the changing table and oh there you go more poop!! She is a pooping machine. :) I didn't feel like wearing that outfit anyways :)





We also took her to get her newborn screening test done yesterday. It was so sad! They had me hold her while they pricked her little foot but she just was not bleeding so they had another nurse come in and prick the other foot in hopes that this one would bleed more. Well the second time I could see what they were doing and I suddenly felt very faint! The nurse looked at me and said you look really white do you need to sit down? I quickly handed Liberty over to Jeff and sat down luckily I did not pass out but oh boy I felt like I was going to.

Liberty did really well only cried a little and feel asleep in her daddy's arms on the way out to the car. Sweet little Girl!

Nights and Days

Little miss Liberty has her nights and days totally mixed up!! She wakes up on the dot every 2 hours at night to eat and most of time wont go back to to bed. You make one sound and she is up, I lay her down in the bassinet and she wakes up. But during the day that girl will sleep and sleep and sleep! I wake her up every 2 to 3 hours to try and feed her but she wont eat most of the time its a fight to get her to eat, and that's only if she wakes up. During the day I can do anything and she will not wake up!! She even sleeps sitting up while I try to burp her. She just will not make the switch, and poor mommy & daddy need to sleep!

One Man. One Woman. That's Marriage.

"....if same-sex marriage becomes a recognized civil right, there will be substantial conflicts with religious freedom. And in some important areas, religious freedom may be diminished." (The Divine Institution of Marriage)

As we are well aware, some crazy laws have been passed and court judgements made that have skewed and negatively influenced our society's view on marriage. Same-sex marriages are on the verge of becoming legal, and already have in a number of places including California and Canada. In just a short time, we can already see the tragic impact of these decisions. If you think this won't affect you, think again. This goes way beyond letting someone signing a piece of paper and putting a ring on. This destroys the very definition of marriage as we know it. It confuses and influences our children, and will inevitably change what they are taught is "correct" in public schools. It hinders our freedom to worship as we please, forcing churches to open their doors and perform ceremonies and services, even when it goes against what they believe. If not, it opens the door for bias and discrimination, effecting how we live and what we believe to be true. It demoralizes one of the great and wonderful things we consider sacred and ordained of God. We shouldn't sit back and let others decide what we think. It's time we take a stand and vote on what we hold dear, to protect our rights as well. When others push for their freedom of speech, they are simultaneously stepping on our toes and crushing our freedom of worship that we have worked so hard to attain. Heck, our whole country was based on that. 

Back in June, the First Presidency of the Church released a statement announcing its participation and support in ProtectMarriage, a coalition of churches, organizations, and individuals sponsoring upcoming propositions and amendments to, obviously, protect marriages. Coming up in Arizona, we have the chance to voice our opinion on the importance of marriage and reserving that right and definition between a man and a woman. It is such a holy and sacred bond and its meaning and significance is being threatened. If we don't stand up for what we believe, our voice will be trampled and the world will decide what is holy and sacred for us. This amendment to the Arizona State's constitution will do more than protect marriage, but it will also protect our children and the rights they have been given to worship freely. Without it, who knows what the lasting effects it will have.

Strong, stable families, headed by a father and mother, are the anchor of civilized society. When marriage is undermined by gender confusion and by distortions of its God-given meaning, the rising generation of children and youth will find it increasingly difficult to develop their natural identity as a man or a woman. Some will find it more difficult to engage in wholesome courtships, form stable marriages, and raise yet another generation imbued with moral strength and purpose.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has chosen to become involved, along with many other churches, organizations, and individuals, in defending the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman because it is a compelling moral issue of profound importance to our religion and to the future of our society.

The final line in the Proclamation on the Family is an admonition to the world from the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve: “We call upon responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society.” This is the course charted by Church leaders, and it is the only course of safety for the Church and for the nation.

Powerful words from our Church leaders! It is our responsibility to take part in our society. We can't look back and complain if we didn't take action when we had a chance. THIS IS OUR CHANCE! I encourage everyone to get out and vote. Not only that but tell your family, your friends, and get them to vote. Post it on your blog, put a sticker on your car, do whatever it takes to get the word out and let the world know how we feel!

10 days old.

Well we did it we survived the first 10 days. :) (This morning I would have said barley!!!) Man what a crazy week it has been. I have never been so overwhelmed with love and emotion and yet at the same time so overwhelmed with this little baby and the new life I now live. It's been really hard but totally worth it. I just love my new little family. I'm being honest so I can get some advise from all you wonderful women out there. It gets better right? Don't get me wrong I love it but this is hard! I feel so over my head never knowing what to do, on the verge of panic attack every time she cries. Nights scare me cause I know I'm not going to sleep. haha. Please someone tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way, and that this motherhood stuff gets better. :) I'm so thankful for Jeff and how much he has helped me out. I love you little Liberty!

I love my Daddy

Liberty just loves her daddy. I can tell already. Jeff is so good with her and can calm her down more often than I can. He has such love and patience for her and me. Jeff I don't know what I would do without you. You have been my life saver this last week. You are my rock, not only do you calm Liberty when she is crying but you calm me down when I'm crying also. I don't know how but I love you more than I ever have before. My love for your grows stronger everyday. I can't wait to see how we turn out as parents. :) Thanks for being there for us every step of the way so far. I love you!

No Soup for You!

The Seinfeld Tour bus was at ASU yesterday and Jeff along with his brother and sister in-law went to go check it out. I was at home with the baby haha. I'm glad he was able to go he is still talking about how fun it was. I wanted to go so bad and really debated taking the baby out. Don't worry I didn't. 

Jeff got to sit with members of the staff! From left to right: Kramer, Elaine, Jeff, Jerry, and George. They are a lot bigger in person. They seem so small on TV.

He did get an autograph and picture with the famous Soup Nazi. Now he is for real. No soup for you! The bus was full of memorabilia from the greatest episodes ever filmed, including the puffy shirt, the tweety pez dispenser, the gortex jacket, fucilli Jerry, and much much more. They served "non-fat" frozen yogurt and black-and-white cookies too. It was a fun time for all.

Liberty Mae

Liberty Mae made her grand entrance into this world on Weds the 17th. Labor was lets just say not what I expected. No one can prepare you for the work and feelings that come with it. It was a long night but at 8:24 am Liberty came into our world and made that whole night totally worth it. (Thank you Lindsey for posting her birth announcement on her for me) It was a long but wonderful process and we have never been happier. She is so cute!!!!!

Liberty is grandchild number 3 on my side and number 23 on Jeff's. Here she is with Kallie and Preston. They love her! Kallie is so cute every time she holds her she giggles and just looks at her. They are all going to be the best of friends :)
My mom was amazing and was with me the whole time during labor. I love this picture, I could not of gotten Liberty here without my mom and Jeff. What a team we were!
We are so blessed with wonderful family. Jeff's parents were troopers and stayed all night waiting for Liberty to arrive. She is very lucky to have so many wonderful grandparents.

Liberty Mae Williamson

Mom and baby are doing great.

Thursday the 11th of September I had a Dr. appointment, I had been dilated to 2 and 90% effaced for two weeks. My Dr. (Dr. Lindstrom) stripped my membranes and said if you don't go into labor by Monday give me a call and I will induce you. After a long weekend of walking and doing everything to start labor nothing happened! So Monday morning I called and was scheduled to be induced the next day Tuesday at 12pm. I was so scared but ready for the baby to come, plus that was Jeff's day off and my mom got out of school at 1pm so I knew she would be able to be there too. It took us a while to get into our room but at 2pm they started my Labor 2 hours later I was able to walk around to keep it going. I only walked around for 45 min, and was in so much pain my vision started to blur. I freaked out and we walked back to my room they checked me and I was a 4. So they started my IV for my strep B and and also so I could get an epidural. After my epidural things slowed way down! Plus my water was not breaking! Dr. Lindstrom wouldn't come break my water until I had both does of the Meds for the strep B. After a very long night of waiting for my water to break, at about 3am a nurse came to check me to see if Liberty had turned. She was face up and was giving me terrible back labor plus it would be harder to push her out this way. So they moved in all different positions to try to get her to turn over. No luck but my water did break while she was checking me. After that I went to complete in about an hour. I had the best nurse ever all night we all loved her, her name was Kris. And after 20 min of pushing her shift was over and had to leave I was so sad. After 2 1/2 hours of pushing Liberty Mae finally came out with a little scowl on her face. It was too cute. I was so tired I could barley look at her when she came out I felt like I was gone! I couldn't keep my eye's open! That was hard work but totally worth it. The hospital stay was long and terrible and we were glad to come home. Our favorite nurse Kris even found us and came to see little Liberty I thought that was very nice of her.

Raccoon Tails

(This is for you Melissa) :)
So this is Raccoon Tails, that's what the Williamson's call them we called them Chicken Squares but no matter what you call them they are dang good! We just got done eating them and look how many we have left plus another pan in the oven so if you want some come on over haha. Melody I hope its ok but I'm taking the reciepe from your blog :)




Raccoon Tails
Filling:
2 boxes of cream cheese
1 can of green chiles
lemon pepper
1/4c. butter
mix and then add chicken (4-6 chicken breasts cooked and shredded)
Put about a TBSP of filling on crescent roll and roll up. Dip in melted butter and then into seasoned bread crumbs (I also add the lemon pepper to the bread crumbs). Place on a sheet pan and cook for 20-30 min at 350. You will need 3-4 cans of crescent rolls although this recipe can be adjusted for smaller amounts (They make great leftovers). We serve over rice with white gravy.

Happy Birthday Husband!

Happy Birthday Jeff! The big 24! Wow your getting old :) Everyone who knows Jeff knows how wonderful he is. I'm pretty sure he is every one's best friend! I don't know anyone who has meet Jeff and not fell in love with his easy going and loving personalty. I consider my self so lucky to be his wife! Poor Jeff has a busy day of work and school but we are going out to lunch and I'm going to try to make his favorite dinner of Raccoon Tails tonight, and cheese cake for his cake wish me luck haha.
I love you Jeff so much! A huge thanks to your parents for bring you into this world for I don't know what my life would be like with out you! Thanks for being such a wonderful husband and working so hard at work, school and at home. I hope your birthday is wonderful!

2 weeks and yes I'm counting

We are down to only 2 weeks left! I'm so excited I pray every night that I go into labor haha. I'm trying not to get too excited tho cause this is going to be the longest 2 weeks of my life! And lets hope I don't go past 2 weeks!
Well I think we are ready as we will ever be, I'm scared out of mind every time I think about the actual labor part and going to hospital and when to go to the hospital but at the same time I'm so ready to see what this little baby looks like!
The room is ready, everything is washed and I even packed my "bag" tonight. So now we just sit and wait. (or walk and swim like crazy to get this labor going!) Any suggestion of self induced labor is appreciated although I know it wont happen til she is ready. I'm totally ok with that too! I think I'm most excited for my swelling to go down. I told Jeff the other night that I didn't care if I came home with a belly as big as when I went to the hospital as long as my swelling was down. Its pretty much out of control these days. My last day of work is on Tuesday, I'm looking forward to enjoying those days of freedom for the last time. I plan on staying in bed and sleeping as much as possible and do fun little baby crafts all day! I will keep everyone posted as we trek through these last few weeks!
