When we were little my mom would always sing to us "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of you, I hope that you are proud as I am!" And that is exactly the song we sang to her all week last week! My mom did it, FINALLY after on again off again school for the past 5 years and than finally nursing school for the past 2 years she did it, she graduated! What an example of hard work and dedication. Through out all she has been through she kept at it, studied hard and graduated with distinction.
Us kids had a blast with the whole graduating ceremony's. It was so fun to spoil and give all the attention to my mom. Thursday (May 14th) She had a pinning ceremony for the Nursing program. Everyone was able to attend expect for Austin who was taking a final :) She looked so cute in her scrubs! The pinning ceremony was fun, we watched a video of all the students saying thanks to their family, friends, and instructors. And than they all were pinned. Our family is a HUGE fan of the standing slow clap, so as my mom walked toward us, we all stood and gave her a slow clap, she said that made her day! I love my family and how we all get so into EVERYTHING our family does. After that we went out to dinner as a family to Texas Road House. Friday night (May 15th) was her graduation from CGCC. I will have to say this was one of the best graduations I have ever been too! Kelsey and I were able to sneak back into the building where the graduates were lined up and take pictures of my mom walking out. And than we were able to take more pictures of her in her seat, and to make it all even better they had left a open area up front by the stage where you were able to sit and take pictures and video of your graduate walking across and getting their diploma. We all had so much fun! We took so many pictures of both ceremonies but I only posted a few, we took almost 100 pictures haha. After Graduation we went to Applebee's for appetizers, we stayed out so late, it was just the 6 kids (plus Brooke and Zack), Jeff and Reggie stayed home with the babies, and let us stay out all night to party on grad night with our mom. It was so fun to see my mom in a cap and gown. It makes me want to get back to school and finish my degree. I have been talking about it with Jeff all week, my only problem is I still don't know what I want to do, this is why I stopped going in the first place :(
On top of this ALL my mom also got a JOB! (She interviewed for a job after working a 12 hour night shift at the hospital with no sleep and still wowed them) way to go mom I knew you would get it. There are very few openings right now because of the economy, but she was blessed and was able to find a job. We are all so happy, if she couldn't get a job she was thinking about MOVING to get one! I was NOT happy about that.
Mom you are my inspiration and my best friend, not only am I proud of you for making this dream come true for your self but for everything you do everyday for your family. You mean the world to us and I thank heavenly everyday for sending me to be your child. YOU DID MOM. This day finally came, and I think it was 10 times better than we even dreamed it would be! You are going to be a WONDERFUL Nurse, I love you!

The necklace we gave my mom, she loved it!

Also a BIG congrats to our friends Nate and Michelle. Nate and my Mom were in the same classes and graduated together. GO NATE!
